Research Interests
We engineer DNA-, RNA-, and protein-based molecular systems with programmable functions to control recognition, signal transduction, and molecular computation. Our research exploits the programmability of nucleic acid interactions to develop input-responsive systems for biosensing, synthetic biology, and biomedical applications.
We develop dynamic biomimetic compartments that integrate membrane-based and membraneless architectures to mimic key cellular functions. These adaptive systems provide programmable microenvironments for compartmentalized reactions, molecular communication, and the construction of next-generation artificial cells.
We design innovative biosensing technologies that combine biomolecular recognition with advanced signal amplification and transduction strategies (e.g. CRISPR). Our platforms enable sensitive, rapid, and multiplexed detection of clinically relevant biomarkers, with applications ranging from point-of-care diagnostics to precision medicine.
