General research description

We are an interdisciplinary group of scientists exploring the applications of synthetic nucleic acid nanotechnology for bio-analytical applications. We are highly attracted by the simplicity with which nucleic acids can be rationally designed to perform programmable tasks at the nanoscale. Using our skills as chemists and bioengineers, we focus our activities on the design of functional nucleic acid systems responsive to chemical and biological inputs with a focus on DNA/RNA processing enzymes. The final goal is to develop bio-inspired dynamic devices with application in molecular diagnostics and nanomedicine.
